Sound & Vibration - what for and how often?

Sound & Vibration works with us both on a subtle as well as a visceral level. Everyone experiences it in their own way and the experience can vary considerably each time depending on what you might be going through. Some ways to think about how and when to use sound and vibration to support you.

  • Regular energy cleaning, clearing and repairing. Like everything in our lives we benefit from tending regularly to our energy, body and relationships. Sound and vibration can help integrate and tend to both the positive and not so positive vibrations we might encounter in our daily lives. If we don’t make the effort to clean our home - we know what eventually happens, it becomes a place that’s not so pleasant to live in. The same can happen with our energetic space, our biofield, energy fields.

  • Major life events. We all have times where significant events happen - change of jobs, marriage, children, moving homes, loss of someone close… Tuning can really support our capacity to process, integrate and take advantage of an experience.

  • When you are in a pattern in your life you would like to break free from. This could be daily habits you have or repeating patterns in life.

  • Patterns in relationships you no longer wish to continue. Couples therapy? Clear up the relationship history - this could be work you do on your own or jointly with your partner. This can also work with other relationships in your life - parent/child, friends, etc.

  • When you are wanting to work above the physical (epigenetic) to affect physical outcomes beyond symptom management.

  • Boost of energy, creativity, productivity. I have observed in myself and clients that sometimes a sound session triggers a boost of energy, inspiration and motivation to do something you may have been procrastinating on.

  • Dr. Candace Pert, tells us that our body is our subconscious mind. We can work with our subconscious using sound on the body, allowing the body to come back into resonance, working with the subconscious or unconscious patterns in our lives. Acutonics (see Acutonics.com for more information) is based on the frequencies of the planets used on acupuncture points and meridians and is a deeply relaxing process. Basically think of it as acupuncture / acupressure using tuning forks / sound & vibration instead of needles or hand pressure.

  • Beyond stories and talk therapy. There can be great value in telling our story to heal, but there can sometimes be a danger of it reinforcing the trauma or becoming a sort of identify. Whereas using processes like sound and vibration we can work with the energetic effects outside of re-telling the story. You can enter into a relaxed, meditative state - integrate the benefit and release.

  • When we are wanting to make a quantum leap in our consciousness - sound and vibration can really assist in meditation and tuning into our own wisdom, purpose and intentions - what’s true for us, shutting out the noise.
